On 16 November 2023, Mr. Asi Mamanee, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, and Mr. Oscar Fredrik Schlyter, Acting Head of the Department for Asia, Pacific, and Latin America, Sweden, co-chaired the 4th session of Thai-Swedish Political Consultation held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand. The meeting aimed to enhance bilateral cooperation and exchanged views on regional and international issues.

Both sides engaged in fruitful and friendly discussions focusing on ways to strengthen cooperation in the fields of technology and innovation, forestry, wastewater management, green transition, defense technology, space cooperation as well as judicial cooperation. Also, the discussion included trade and investment opportunities, support for the negotiations of Thailand-EU FTA, and the prospect of trilateral development cooperation in the Mekong Subregion.
