On 10 January 2024, the Royal Thai Embassy in Tokyo dispatched the first batch of essential relief items for humanitarian assistance to those affected by the recent earthquake in Ishikawa Prefecture. The relief efforts have been carrying out in collaboration with the Non-Profit Organization (NPO) YOU-I.

The affected Thai communities has well received the initial relief items sent by the Royal Thai Embassy on 14 January 2024 through the cooperation of NPO NOTO-Renaissance. The relief items encompassed crucial household necessities including essential medicines such as cold and fever relief medicines, Thai herbal “Fah TaLai Jone” capsules for sore throat, supplementary drinks, facial masks; tissue boxes; toilet papers; sanitary pads. Additionally, plans are underway to send other relief items such as Thai canned fish, snacks, and bottles of drinking water carried out by the Royal Thai Embassy in working with NPO YOU-I and other related NPOs in the area.

Notably, the Royal Thai Embassy in Tokyo has also received valuable supports from the private companies, based in Japan, who import Thai food products, reinforcing the solidarity in providing humanitarian assistance to those impacted by the earthquake. These contributions include instant noodles and bottles of Thai coconut water and Malee juice from PK Siam Company, hot-packed boiled rice and sticky rice from Kitoku Shinryo Company and Thai rice grains from Wonnapob Company, which will be further dispatched in the following batches to the affected communities through NPO YOU-I and other related NPOs in the coming weeks.

This collaborative effort reflects the commitment of both governmental and private entities to stand in solidarity with the affected individuals, providing essential relief to ease the challenges faced by the earthquake victims in Ishikawa Prefecture.
