On May 29, 2022, Ambassador Kanchana Patarachoke welcomed Mr. Narit Therdsteerasukdi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) on the occasion of his visit to Sweden. Issues discussed during the meeting covered investment promotion, creation of an ecosystem conducive to innovation development in Thailand, including through measures attracting foreign investors to invest in Thai start-ups.

 

The BOI has an office in Stockholm headed by Ms. Natharikorn Sethasupak. The BOI office in Stockholm also covers other Nordic countries. Currently, over 70 Swedish companies have invested in Thailand, such as IKEA, ABB, Scania, and Volvo, while most Thai businesses in Sweden are at the entrepreneurial level, including Thai restaurants and shops all around the country.
