Ambassador Tanee exchanges views with Daejeon Mayor to promote cooperation in potential areas.

On 10 January 2025, H.E. Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to the ROK, met with Mr. Lee Jang Woo, Daejeon Mayor at Daejeon City Hall. Ambassador thanked Daejeon Metropolitan Government for taking good care of around 10,000 Thai citizens residing in Daejeon Metropolitan city and surrounding areas.

Both sides exchanged views on opportunities to promote cooperation in areas in which Thailand and Daejeon having their expertise and corresponding to Ignite Thailand vision of the Royal Thai Government, such as digital, biotechnology, future mobility, aviation, medical and wellness.

Both sides shared their interests to promote cooperation between Daejeon Metropolitan City and Chiangmai Province as a Friendship Cities due to their similarity of being educational hubs of well-known universities and research institutes in Science , technology and innovation.

The Embassy is preparing to invite a famous marching band from a high school in Chiang Mai Province to perform in Daejeon Zero O’clock Festival in August 2025.
