Ms. Auramon Supthaweethum, Director-General of the Department of Trade Negotiations, Ministry of Commerce of Thailand, who led a delegation from the Ministry of Commerce of Thailand, for study visits and discussions, related to the Norwegian advanced technologies in sustainable processing and management of the seafood and agricultural industries, with private enterprises in Norway during 8-10 November 2022. The said visit was a part of the 2nd round negotiations between Thailand and European Free Trade Association (EFTA), which took place in Swiss Federation on 1-4 November 2022.
The Delegation from the Ministry of Commerce went to salmon farming onsite visit at Blom Fiskeoppdrett AS in Bergen and fertilizer production and quality control at Yara Norge AS in Porsgrunn. During the dinner, Ambassador of Thailand and Director-General of the Department of Trade Negotiations also exchanged views and discussed on how to integrate foreign and economic affairs, in order to promote and advance bilateral trade cooperation between Thailand and Norway as well as Thailand and EFTA.
When Free Trade Agreement between Thailand and EFTA is concluded, it is expected that potentials on import-export between Thailand and EFTA member states will be further enhanced, especially the removal of trade barriers, which will be a great benefit for expansion of Thai product markets abroad.
