Ambassador of Thailand to Norway hosted a meeting with representatives from the Thai Women’s Association in Norway to discuss the future work plan for the “Project Promoting Potential Development of Thai Massage in Norway”

On 28 October 2023, H.E. Ms. Vimolbajra Ruksakiati, Ambassador of Thailand to Norway, and the Embassy’s officials hosted a meeting with representatives from the Thai Women’s Association in Norway, the Thai-Norway Language and Cultural Association, and members of the Thai community in Norway, to discuss the future work plan for the “Project Promoting Potential Development of Thai Massage in Norway”. As the said project has been implemented for almost one year, this meeting afforded with the opportunity to jointly review and exchange ideas, especially after the fruitful and constructive meeting between Ambassador Vimolbajra and members of the Norwegian Health Authority, Oslo Kommune, on 20 October 2023.

At the meeting, Ambassador Vimolbajra, representatives from the Thai Women’s Association in Norway, and other participants agreed to continue to actively work together to further implement the “Project Promoting Potential Development of Thai Massage in Norway” and agreed that the next meeting will be held in January 2024. The ultimate objective of the project is empowerment of Thai community in Norway especially Thai women.

Ambassador Vimolbajra also took this opportunity to discuss with the representatives from the Thai-Norway Language and Cultural Association and the Thai community in Norway on the possible collaboration to disseminate knowledge and useful information for the Thai nationals who are moving to Norway by producing brochures or pamphlets to be distributed at the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Bangkok and at the Royal Thai Embassy in Oslo. The representatives from the Thai-Norway Language and Cultural Association were pleased to take this matter into consideration and agreed to meet with the Ambassador also in January 2024.

The Royal Thai Embassy would like to express our appreciation to representatives from the Thai Women’s Association in Norway, the Thai-Norway Language and Cultural Association, and members of the Thai community in Norway attended this meeting who provided valuable and constructive inputs and ideas to further implement the “Project Promoting Potential Development of Thai Massage in Norway”, which will positively contribute to our efforts to promote Thai women empowerment in Norway and uplifting of livelihood of Thai community in Norway.
