On 6 June 2022, H.E. Ms. Vimolbajra Ruksakiati, Ambassador of Thailand to Norway, visited Skiptvet Buddhist Monastery (Lokuttara Vihara) to pay respect and offer food to Ajahn Kalyano, the Abbot of the Skiptvet Buddhist Monastery, and members of the Sangha.

During the Dhamma conversation, Ajahn Kalyano kindly led the discussion to recount the stories relating to the virtues of katannu (which means never forgetting or downplaying the acts of kindness and benevolence from which we have benefited, no matter how small) and katavedi (which means seeking to honour acts of kindness and benevolence) for our parents, the importance of family relationship and bonds, the acts of loving kindness to everyone. Then Ajahn Kalyano led a guided meditation for Ambassador Vimolbajra, her family and the Embassy’s officials, and also Mrs. Shantana Srivipa Berg, President of Thai Women’s Association in Norway (Den Thailandske kvinneforening) and Mr. Egil Lothe, Secretary General of the Buddhist Federation of Norway (Buddhistforbundet) who came to the Monastery.

Ajahn Kalyano also gave the Dhamma books called “The Thread” or “Tråden” both English and Norwegian versions by Ajahn Kalyano to Ambassador Vimolbajra for distribution at the Embassy. The books are now available at the Embassy’s consular section for those who are interested.
