On 7 February 2023, H.E. Ms. Vimolbajra Ruksakiati, Ambassador of Thailand to Norway, paid a courtesy call on Mrs. Marianne Borgen, Mayor of Oslo, at the City Hall. Ms. Potchamas Saengthien, Counsellor, Royal Thai Embassy, and Ms. Bheraya Homkosol, Counsellor, Royal Thai Embassy, Ms. Cecilie Stray, Head of Mayor’s Office, and Ms. Lena Jensen, Political Advisor, Mayor’s Office, also participated in the meeting.
 
Both sides exchanged views and discussed issues of mutual interests. Ambassador Ruksakiati presented to Mayor Borgen the Project of Empowerment of Thai massage in Norway, a joint initiative of the Embassy and the Thai Women’s Association in Norway. Mayor Borgen replied that the project is a very interesting initiative and would like to receive more detailed information, which Ambassador Ruksakiati will update Mayor Borgen again as the project become more materialized.
 
Ambassador Ruksakiati took this opportunity to invite Mayor Borgen to the Embassy’s cultural activity to promote Thai food and traditional Thai massage for the Female Ambassadors in Oslo at the Embassy this coming autumn. Both sides also discussed about the policy linkage and cooperation between Norway’s Green Transition Policy and Thailand’s Bio-Circular Green Economy (BCG) which Ambassador Ruksakiati requested for a study visit to learn more about the innovation and management plan on electric vehicles and waste/recycling management in Oslo city. Mayor Borgen responded positively upon this request.
