On 13 January 2024, H.E. Ms. Vimolbajra Ruksakiati, Ambassador of Thailand to Norway, along with Mr. Monsak Jangariyawong, Minister Counsellor, visited the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Stockholm Office’s booth at the TravelXpo/Explore the World 2024. Ambassador Vimolbajra was greeted by Ms. Krittika Rojanasap, Deputy Director of Tourism Authority of Thailand, Stockholm Office. The TravelXpo is the largest travel fair in Norway which brings together tourism operators and international representatives from government and private sectors within the tourism industry to promote their products and participate in business negotiations. The event was held for the first time in 2020.
 
TravelXpo/Explore the World 2024 is held between 11 - 14 January 2024 and attended by more than 140 tour operators, airlines, international travel agencies, as well as members of the media. TAT’s travel booth has offered tourist information and showcased various tourist attractions in Thailand which attract the interests of many visitors to the fair. Exhibitors from Asia participated in the TravelXpo/Explore the World 2024 include Thailand and Indonesia.
 
Thailand is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Asia among Norwegian tourists. In 2023, more than 83,000 Norwegian tourists visited Thailand. In 2024, the number of Norwegian tourists traveling to Thailand is expected to increase after the opening of direct flights between Oslo - Bangkok by Norse Atlantic Airways and Thai Airways (which will begin in July 2024). TAT expects that 100,000 Norwegian tourists will travel to Thailand in 2024.
