Celebration of the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, National Day, and Father’s Day, December 5, 2024

On December 1, 2024, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in New York, in collaboration with Team Thailand agencies, hosted a reception on the auspicious occasion of the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, National Day, and Father’s Day at Astoria World Manor in New York City.

The event began with a tribute speech delivered by Miss Somjai Taphaopong, Consul General of Thailand in New York, who presided over the ceremony. She extended a warm welcome to attendees and praised the Thai community for its vital role in promoting a positive image of Thailand in the United States. She also expressed appreciation to individuals and organizations that supported the event. Consul General Taphaopong then invited H.E. Mr. Cherdchai Chaivaivid, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Thailand to the United Nations in New York, to honorably address the gathering.

The event featured a variety of activities, including musical performances in honor of His Majesty and traditional Thai cultural performances by teachers, youth, associations, and clubs. Guests enjoyed an array of Thai cuisine, generously provided by Thai Select-certified restaurants, as well as traditional Thai desserts and intricately carved fruits prepared by chefs from the Consul General’s residence.

More than 200 attendees, including Thai government officials, members of the Thai community from various associations and professions, as well as representatives from New York’s public and private sectors, participated in the celebration. The event left a lasting impression on both Thai and international guests, showcasing the profound love and reverence for the monarchy and the rich cultural heritage of Thailand.
