On 11 December 2024, the Royal Thai Embassy in Lisbon organized a volunteer activity Doing Good Deeds at Casa de Proteção e Amparo de Santo António (House of Protection and Support of Santo António), a Private Social Solidarity Institution (IPSS). Founded in 1931, the Institution aims to assist teenage mothers and their children with accommodation and other livelihoods assistances. The Institution premises is divided into 3 areas: children and youth home, day care and commercial activity area in the restaurant sector. Since its inception, the Institution has assisted around 2,800 mothers and is currently providing assistance with the maximum capacity of 17 teenage mothers.
On this occasion, the Embassy informed Ms. Renata Faustino, representative of the Institution, on the background of the volunteer activity Doing Good Deeds which the Embassy organized by following the Royal Initiative of His Majesty the King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua and in remembrance of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great. The Embassy, in this regard, handed over food, ingredients for cooking, medicine, household supplies and kitchen utensils to the Institution to aid the residing mothers and children.
