During 31 January – 12 February 2023, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Kolkata participated in the 46th International Kolkata Bookfair held at Central Park, Kolkata for the first time.

As part of the Bookfair, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Kolkata set up a Thai Pavilion to showcase Thai Books (including e-books) displayed on a variety of faucets of Thailand such as art, culture, tourism, people, Thai cuisine and Thai history. The Pavilion also hosted Thailand-related daily activities for the visitors, who had the opportunity to learn more about Thailand. The activities include quiz about Thailand, Thai alphabet writing demonstration and Thai basic phrases learning for foreigners, as well as interactive activities throughout the day. The Thai Pavilion received an overwhelming response from more than 1,000 visitors per day and 8 local medias have published a report about the popularity of Thai Pavilion.
