Minister of Tourism and Sports visited Thai community in the western regions of Saudi Arabia

On November 30, 2022, H.E. Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Minister of Tourism and Sports, and his delegation visited Thai communities in the western regions of Saudi Arabia at the Consul-General's residence in Jeddah. The event was attended by more than 120 Thai people consisting of those who work as tailors, pilgrim service providers and restaurant operators including Thai children studying in the Thai language program and non-formal learning of the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Jeddah.

During the session, the Minister discussed and exchanged information regarding various challenges facing the Thai community. While emphasizing that the diplomatic normalization between Thailand and Saudi Arabia has been a delightful event, it also created an opportunity for all the Thai people to take part in the promotion of cooperation in various fields.

In so doing, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports is ready to support Thai people living in Saudi Arabia to develop academic knowledge and skills that will be useful in their careers, particularly for Thai students and Thai people with Arabic language skill to enter the tourism labor market in Thailand to meet the rising demand of Saudi tourist visiting Thailand.
