On December 3rd, 2023 Consul-General Katanawadee Kalayanamit, accompanied by Consulate’s staff, attended the ceremony to commemorate the Birthday Anniversary of H.M. King Bhumibol Adulyadej, as well as Thailand's National Day and Father's Day. The significant ceremony was held at Wat Dhammaram in Chicago.
In the latter half of the ceremony, the Consul-General, as well as Consulate’s staff, participated in the ceremony to commemorate National Father's Day. This part of the event was particularly poignant, featuring a segment where students had the opportunity to pay respect to their fathers. Furthermore, the event recognized the achievements of students in the recitation of Buddhist scriptures and the singing of the national anthem. Additionally, the ceremony was enriched with Thai classical music and dance performances by the students of the Sunday School.
The event concluded with the Consul-General overseeing the award ceremony. This segment honored 80 students from the Sunday School of Wat Dhammaram who had completed courses in Thai language, Thai classical music, and Thai classical dance. In recognition of their volunteer efforts and participation, students, fathers, and teachers were presented with gift bags containing snacks and drinks, symbolizing gratitude and celebration on this notable occasion.
