On December 1st, 2023, the Royal Thai Consulate-General, Chicago hosted a reception in honor of the Birthday Anniversary of H.M. Bhumibol Adulyadej, Thailand’s National Day, and National Father’s Day. The reception showcased a variety of cultural performances, including a blessing dance, the United States National Anthem, and the Thai Royal Anthem. These performances were elegantly delivered by students from the Thai Cultural and Fine Arts Institute of Chicago (TCFAI) and the Thai Sunday School at Wat Dhammaram.
 
The event was further enriched by the delivery of important messages. Ms. Jessica Sewell, representing Senator Tammy Duckworth as the Chicago Outreach Director, conveyed a congratulatory letter from the Senator. In addition, a message from Mayor Brandon Johnson of Chicago was presented by Ms. Nina Goad, the International Program Manager at World Business Chicago. The event also featured remarks from Mr. Michael W. Frerichs, the Illinois State Treasurer, and Mrs. Katanawadee Kalayanamit, the Consul General of Thailand in Chicago. A ceremonial toast honoring H.M. the King of Thailand and enduring friendship between Thailand and the United States of America marked a highlight of the reception.
