On 6 December 2023, Ms. Busadee Santipitaks, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, had a meeting with a delegation from the Progressive Policy Institute (PPI), a leading think tank on public policy and U.S. politics based in Washington D.C., led by Mr. Will Marshall, President of the PPI.
Both sides discussed Thailand – U.S. relations and how to further promote bilateral ties, particularly through high-level engagements. They discussed the multi-faceted cooperation between the two countries, including on security, trade, investment, climate action, energy transition, and supply chain resilience. Also highlighted was education and academic cooperation, through think tanks and academic institutions, to foster closer relations at the people-to-people level. In addition, the meeting exchanged views on regional cooperation, including the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF), as well as on regional and global issues.
