During 16 - 18 April 2024, the Right Honourable Christopher Luxon, Prime Minister of New Zealand, will pay an Official Visit to the Kingdom of Thailand upon the invitation of H.E. Mr. Srettha Thavisin, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand. The Prime Minister’s delegation will comprise the Honourable Simon Watts MP, the Minister for Climate Change of New Zealand, the Honourable Paulo Garcia MP, Member of Parliament, and officials from relevant government agencies, including a business delegation.

During the Visit, the Prime Minister of New Zealand will have a bilateral meeting with the Thai Prime Minister, followed by a courtesy call on the Thai Prime Minister by the New Zealand business delegation. At the Government House, both Prime Ministers will witness the signing of MOUs between relevant Thai and New Zealand agencies, which will be followed by a Joint Press Conference. The Thai Prime Minister will host a luncheon in honour of the Prime Minister of New Zealand. Furthermore, the Prime Minister of New Zealand will meet with prominent New Zealand Alumni in Bangkok, as well as host a reception for representatives of public and private sectors of both sides. In addition, a Joint Statement between Thailand and New Zealand will also be issued to underscore the outcome of the Official Visit.

The forthcoming Official Visit to Thailand by the Prime Minister of New Zealand reflects the close and cordial relations between Thailand and New Zealand. It will also provide an opportunity for Thailand and New Zealand to deepen mutual cooperation in all areas, particularly in defence and security, economy, clean energy, innovation, education and cultural areas, as well as people-to-people cooperation. This occasion also marks the first Official Visit to Thailand by the Prime Minister of New Zealand in 11 years.
