On March 13, 2025, Ms. Somjai Taphaopong, Consul General of Thailand in New York, led a delegation of Team Thailand agencies in New York, including Dr. Ketsuree Vijaranakorn, Senior Director of Thai Trade Center, and Mr. Nanthapol Sudbanthad, Direcor of Thailand Board of Investment, to meet with Ms. Anne-Sophie Mahle, Director of International Partnerships at the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC). The discussion focused on expanding opportunities for Thai trade and investment in New York City.

NYCEDC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to positioning New York City as a global business hub. The agency provides guidance and resources to investors while promoting innovation and sustainable development across key industries.

During the meeting, both sides exchanged insights on their respective missions, priorities, and strategies for fostering stronger collaboration between Thai public and private sectors and NYCEDC. They agreed that New York presents significant opportunities for Thai businesses, particularly in life sciences, technology, and green economy. Moving forward, both parties will explore ways to enhance cooperation and facilitate Thai investment in one of the world’s most dynamic economic centers.
