On 11 November 2025, Mrs. Kanokwan Pengsuwan, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Portugal, welcomed Ms. Nuntanart Krishnajinda, Director of the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI), Paris Office, and her delegation on the occasion of their visit to Portugal to meet and discuss with Portuguese agencies responsible for promoting investment between Portugal and foreign countries.

On this occasion, the Royal Thai Embassy in Lisbon, together with the BOI Office, met with Portuguese representatives to explore ways to raise awareness among Portuguese private companies seeking investment in the other regions, particularly in Southeast Asian region. The meetings included discussions with the representatives of Institute for the Promotion of Latin America and the Caribbean (IPDAL), who took note on Thailand’s strategic location as a promising investment hub for European companies and wishes to encourage Portuguese private sector to expand their investment in Southeast Asia in addition to Latin America. They also met with the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIP) to invite Portuguese entrepreneurs to participate in foreign investment promotion activities in Thailand in 2026.

The BOI Paris Office is part of Team Thailand of the Royal Thai Embassy in Lisbon, who are currently working together with Portuguese partners to plan activities aimed at raising awareness among Portuguese companies on Thailand’s potential as a investment base for European business, as well as the privileges and benefits granted to foreign investors by the BOI when expanding their investments in Thailand.
