On 19 March 2025, Ms. Siriporn Tantipanyathep, Consul-General of Thailand in Kolkata, visited Bodhikul School in Bodhgaya to present essential school supplies. Founded by Dr. Ven. Phravites Pothikun of the Wat Thai Magadh Buddhist Vipassana, the school serves 230 students across grades 1 to 8. This heartfelt CSR event, titled "We Do Good Deeds by Our Heart" and “Dhammanava-Royal Palace,” was inspired by the Royal Initiative of His Majesty the King of Thailand. It aims to enhance the students’ education, promote their well-being, and bring the timeless teachings of the Buddha to life within the local Indian community in a meaningful way.

During the ceremony, the Consul-General delivered a touching message, emphasizing the transformative power of education to change lives, open doors to brighter futures, and empower individuals to make a positive impact in society. She also participated in the morning assembly, joining the students in paying respects to Lord Buddha. As part of the donation, the Consulate-General provided valuable resources, including a water purifier, a library book almirah, an office table, a digital attendance machine, and a projector—essential tools that will significantly improve the school’s learning environment.

Bodhikul School is a shining example of the Thai Temple’s commitment to improving the lives of underprivileged youth in rural India. Through its dedication to quality education and the integration of Buddhist teachings, the school fosters both academic growth and values of discipline, compassion, and mindfulness. These efforts are an important part of ‘Buddhist Diplomacy,’ strengthening the bond between Thailand and India while ensuring that Buddhist principles continue to inspire positive change within the local community.
