Excellency,

On behalf of the Royal Thai Government and people of the Kingdom of Thailand, I have the honour to extend to you my sincere congratulations on your assumption of office as Prime Minister of Japan. Indeed, your appointment is a compelling reflection of the high trust and confidence placed in you to take Japan forward, especially during such challenging times for the international community.

In view of this, I am pleased that Thailand and Japan share a close strategic partnership, as well as common views on regional and international issues. Moreover, under your co-chairmanship of the Japan-Thailand High Level Joint Commission (HLJC), economic cooperation between our two countries made significant progress, especially in such areas as free trade agreements, infrastructure cooperation, human resource development and local-to-local cooperation. It is my earnest hope, therefore, that Thailand and Japan will continue to follow through and build on these areas of cooperation under the HLJC.

In this regard, I look forward to working closely with you to further deepen and expand relations between Thailand and Japan in all dimensions for the mutual benefit of our two countries and peoples, and for the progress of the international community. Particularly important will be our collaboration on post-COVID-19 socio-economic recovery.

I would like to take this opportunity to extend to you my best wishes for your continued success. I also wish to take this opportunity to extend an invitation to you to pay an official visit to Thailand at a mutually convenient date.
