On 16 September 2020, H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, sent a congratulatory message to H.E. Mr. MOTEGI Toshimitsu, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, on the occasion of the re-appointment of his duty as follows:

BEGIN

“Excellency,

I have the honour to extend my heartfelt congratulations to you on being re-appointed as Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan on 16 September 2020. Your re-instatement to this important portfolio reflects the high trust and confidence placed in you to continue steering forward Japan’s foreign relations and stature in the international community.

I fondly recall your official visit to Thailand in January 2020 and our telephone conversations on 13 May and 18 June 2020, during which we reaffirmed the close strategic partnership between Thailand and Japan amid the COVID-19 situation and exchanged views on issues of mutual interest.

In this connection, I wish to reaffirm my commitment to continue working with you to further strengthen the strategic partnership between Thailand and Japan in all dimensions for the mutual interests of our two countries, peoples and the region at large. I also look forward to having the pleasure of welcoming you on a visit to Thailand again at a mutually convenient date soon.

Accept, Excellency, the renewed assurances of my highest consideration.

Don Pramudwinai
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand
