On 19 March 2026, the Thai delegation participated in the 11th Meeting of the International Coordinating Committee for the Conservation and Enhancement of the Temple of Preah Vihear (ICC-PV), in Siem Reap, Kingdom of Cambodia.
 
Mr. Narut Soontarodom, Consul-General in Siem Reap, delivered a statement underscoring Thailand’s commitment to the protection and conservation of cultural heritage, as well as to the implementation of its relevant international obligations, in particular the 1972 Convention Concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage or the World Heritage Convention. The Consul-General further reaffirmed Thailand’s belief that peace and stability constitute essential conditions for the protection of cultural heritage, as well as for fostering cooperation and mutual understanding among all parties. Therefore, Thailand intends to work constructively with all parties on the basis of dialogue, mutual respect, and good neighbourliness. He also reiterated Thailand’s confidence in UNESCO and the World Heritage Committee in supporting and promoting open, constructive, and balanced discussions among all parties, and in examining all relevant information in a fair, impartial, scientific and evidence-based manner.
 
The Meeting, established under the decision of UNESCO’s Executive Board, is held annually to discuss the conservation of the Temple of Preah Vihear, which is inscribed on the World Heritage List, as well as the site of Koh Ker. For the meeting this year, the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of India served as Co-Chairs.
