On 23 March 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a telephone conversation with H.H. Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Foreign Minister expressed appreciation to the Saudi side in facilitating the evacuation and repatriation of Thai nationals via Saudi Arabia. The Saudi Foreign Minister shared his views and updates on the situation in the Middle East. Both sides expressed their shared position, hoping that the conflict comes to an end soonest through diplomatic means and in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations.

The discussion formed part of Thailand’s efforts to express support for its regional partners in addressing the situation in the Middle East and advancing diplomatic initiatives to promote de-escalation and to restore the regional peace at the earliest opportunity. Among these efforts was the recently held Special ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting on the Situation in the Middle East.
