On 26 September 2024, Ms. Busadee Santipitaks, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, attended the reception commemorating the 203rd Anniversary of Independence Day of the Republic of Guatemala, at the Lancaster Bangkok Hotel, and delivered congratulatory remarks on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand. The reception to celebrate this special occasion was held for the first time since the reopening of the Embassy of Guatemala in Bangkok in December 2019.

In her remarks, the Deputy Permanent Secretary stressed the positive development in Thailand - Guatemala relations which have flourished for over 67 years, especially in the areas of trade, cultural and people-to-people connections. Ms. Busadee Santipitaks also reaffirmed Thailand's commitment to strengthening the constructive collaboration between the two countries through mechanisms, such as the exchanges of high-level visits and technical cooperation, among others.
