On 15th July 2024, Mrs. Eksiri Pintaruchi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, attended the National Day of the French Republic reception, organised by the French Embassy in Thailand, at Eastin Grand Hotel Phayathai. The Permanent Secretary, on behalf of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, presented congratulatory flowers to the Ambassador of the French Republic to Thailand.
During this year, bilateral relations between Thailand and France have been highly dynamic. Both sides have been working closely together to expand cooperations across all areas, yielding substantive achievements, including the two visits of the Prime Minister to France in March and May 2024, the joint organisation of the France-Thailand Business Forum on 16 May 2024, the entry into force of the Agreement on Visa Exemption for Holders of Official/Service Passports on 1 April 2024, along with close cooperation in the defence industry.
In 2025, Thailand and France will commemorate the 340th anniversary of the first contact between Siam and France and the 170th anniversary of the establishment of Thai-French diplomatic relations in 2026.
