On 25 June 2024, H.E. Mr. Deng Xijun, Special Envoy for Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand.

The two sides emphasized the shared interest in peaceful, stable and unified Myanmar. As two neighboring countries with long borders with Myanmar, Thailand and China will work closely to help promote peace in Myanmar through a Myanmar-led and Myanmar- owned process.

Thailand and China will also strengthen cooperation to combat transnational organized crimes, especially online scams and drug trafficking.
