On 24 February 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Mr. Volker Türk, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, on the occasion of his visit to Geneva to attend the 61st Session of the Human Rights Council.

Both sides welcomed the longstanding cooperation between Thailand and the OHCHR, and exchanged views on human rights issues of mutual interest, such as efforts to address online scams.

The two sides also exchanged views on the situation in Myanmar and developments regarding the Thailand - Cambodia border situation, while the Foreign Minister informed the High Commissioner of Thailand’s position in this regard, reaffimed Thailand’s commitment to the ceasefire as well as stressed the importance of building trust between the two sides.
