On 24 February 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs, held bilateral meetings with high-level delegates on the sidelines of the 61st session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Rwanda.
In the meeting with H.E. Mr. Espen Barth Eide, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway, both sides exchanged views on the border situation between Thailand and Cambodia, as well as geopolitical challenges that are affecting the international order and multilateral system. Both shared the view on the importance of the reform of the United Nations to better reflect the current international context. The two sides also discussed mutual support in multilateral fora. On this occasion, the Minister of Foreign Affairs extended an invitation to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway to visit Thailand at a mutually convenient date to further discuss details of cooperation.
In the meeting with H.E. Mr. Olivier Jean Patrick Nduhungirehe, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Rwanda, the Foreign Minister emphasized the importance of the African region and the Republic of Rwanda in Thailand’s foreign policy under the Thailand - Africa Initiative. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations through the exchange of high-level visits and promoting cooperation in areas of mutual interest, particularly in economic advancement, development cooperation, and food security, at both bilateral and regional levels. The two Ministers also discussed cooperation on combating online scams and promoting investment by the Thai private sector in the Republic of Rwanda. On this occasion, the Minister of Foreign Affairs extended an invitation to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Rwanda to visit Thailand at a mutually convenient date to further discuss details of cooperation.
