On 22 July 2024, H.E. Ms. Busadee Santipitaks, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Ilkhom Khaydarov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Uzbekistan,

Both sides highlighted the 32 years of friendship between Thailand and Uzbekistan and discussed ways to increase cooperation between the two countries in various areas such as exchange of high-level visits, trade and investment, capacity building and technical cooperation in hospitality, and people-to-people contacts. They also reiterated the importance of promoting bilateral relations through the convening of the Political Consultations which Thailand will next host. The Uzbek side expressed appreciation for the Royal Thai Government’s recent announcement to exempt entry visa for Uzbek nationals for a period of 60 days.Both sides are working on MoU towards exemption of entry visas to Uzbekistan for the Thai passport holders.

The Deputy Permanent Secretary also gave opening remarks at the Thailand-Uzbekistan business matching activity along with Mr. Oybek Elmuratov, Director of the Investment Promotion Agency. Both sides highlighted the cordial relations between the two countries, and agreed on important role of the private sectors in promoting trade, investment agenda and economic cooperation between Thailand and Uzbekistan.
