On 16 September 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, hosted a dinner in honour of H.E. Eng. Salim bin Nasser bin Said Al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals of the Sultanate of Oman, on the occasion of his visit to Thailand to attend Gastech 2026.

Both sides discussed the importance of strengthening their close partnership to address energy challenges amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East. They recognized the potential for Thailand and Oman to work together to enhance energy, food, and maritime security. The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs also welcomed the signing of the MoU on Energy Cooperation between Thailand and Oman, which will lay a solid foundation for the further expansion of bilateral energy security cooperation.

The dinner was also attended by executives from leading Thai and Omani energy companies, including PTT Public Company Limited, PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP), Gulf Development Public Company Limited, Energy Development Oman, OQ Gas Networks, and Integrated Gas Company. The gathering provided an opportunity for the private sectors of both countries to build networks, exchange views and explore opportunities for further cooperation in the energy business.
