On 14 September 2026, H.E. Mr. Arthayudh Srisamoot, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, attended a reception marking the 205th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Guatemala at the Hyatt Regency Bangkok Sukhumvit.

The Advisor extended his congratulations to the Government and people of Guatemala and highlighted the positive momentum in Thailand-Guatemala relations in recent years, particularly the visit to Thailand by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Guatemala in 2025 and the inaugural Thailand-Guatemala Political Consultations in July 2026.

The Advisor also reaffirmed the commitment of both sides to strengthen their friendship and promote closer and more substantive cooperation, particularly in the political, economic and cultural fields, with a view to advancing Thailand-Guatemala relations as the two countries look forward to celebrating the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2027.
