On 11 July 2024, Mrs. Krongkanit Rakcharoen, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs met with Archbishop Peter Bryan Wells, Apolistic Nuncio of the Holy See to Thailand.

Both sides had a discussion about the exchange of high-level visits, humanitarian cooperation, visa facilitation and the promotion of cultural and religious cooperation. On this occasion, the Director-General expressed appreciation that Thailand had the opportunity to welcome His Holiness Pope Francis on his official visit to Thailand in 2019.
