On 18 June 2026, Ms. Pinsuda Jayanama, Director-General of the Department of International Organizations, met with Ms. Tanja Pacifico, Chief of Mission of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Thailand, at the latter’s request for a courtesy call following her assumption of duty.

Both sides expressed satisfaction with the close cooperation between Thailand and IOM, including on the protection and repatriation of victims of trafficking in persons and the provision of humanitarian assistance in border areas between Thailand and its neighbouring countries. They also discussed ways to further enhance cooperation between Thailand and IOM in combating trafficking in persons in the context of online scams, focusing on areas of mutual interest.
