31 October 2024, Mrs. Krongkanit Rakcharoen, Director-General of the Department of European Affairs met with H.E. Mrs. Kristiina Kuvaja-Xanthopoulos, Ambassador of Finland to Thailand who paid a courtesy call on, on the occasion of her assumption of duty.

Both sides discussed ways to enhance trade, investment, and bilateral cooperation, particularly in education, circular economy, innovation, startups and the protection of Thai berry pickers. Both sides also exchanged views on the situation in Ukraine.

On this occasion, the Finnish side congratulated Thailand on its successful bid for membership in the United Nations Human Rights Council for the 2025–2027 term and on the launch of Thailand’s OECD accession process.
