On 25 November 2024, Ms. Cataleya Phatoomros, Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Organizations, attended and delivered a statement at the “Thailand – Making Statelessness History” event, organized by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Office in Thailand. The event recognized the progress made by the Thai Government in resolving the issue of statelessness in Thailand and marked the end of the #IBelong Campaign to End Statelessness and the launch of the Global Alliance to End Statelessness this year.

At the event, H.E. Ms. Sabeeda Thaised, Deputy Minister of Interior, delivered her remarks on behalf of the Thai government at the opening ceremony, which was attended by representatives of the government, civil societies, academia, and international organizations. On this occasion, the Deputy Director-General extended appreciation and commended relevant government agencies for their relentless efforts in resolving statelessness, and reiterated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ readiness to work with all stakeholders, particularly to coordinate with UNHCR and the international community to provide support to the Government's efforts, in line with Thailand’s pledges made in various international fora.
