On 12 February 2024, H.E. Mr. Russ Jalichandra, Advisor to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, on behalf of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, signed the book of condolences following the passing of H.E. Mr. Sebastián Piñera Echenique, former President of the Republic of Chile.

The late President Sebastián Piñera Echenique paid an official visit to Thailand on 4 – 5 October 2013, during which the Thailand – Chile Free Trade Agreement was signed, marking one of the major milestones in Thailand – Chile bilateral relations.
