On April 20, 2025, Mrs. Katanawadee Kalayanamit, Consul General, Mrs. Natnapang Damrongsoontornchai, Deputy Consul General, Mrs. Urasee Thiratangsathira Jeong, Consul, Mrs. Sirima Yuviengjaya, Deputy Director of Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Chicago Office and staff of the Royal Thai Consulate-General participated in the Songkran merit-making events to celebrate the Thai New Year 2025 at Wat Pa Chicago in Burbank, Illinois.

The Consul-General, officials and staff participated in the morning chanting and prayer, made merit by offering alms, to the monks and performed the ceremonial bathing of the Buddha image and monks for blessings and auspiciousness. They also took part in opening an almshouse to serve food and drinks to all attendees.
