The Royal Thai Consulate-General Chicago and Team Thailand extended a jointly welcome the Director-General of the Department of International Trade Promotion and her delegation during their visit to Chicago.

On February 3, 2025, Deputy Consul-General and Acting Consul-General Natnapang Damrongsoontornchai, Mrs. Suprattana Gamolvej, Director of the Thai Trade Center in Chicago, and Ms. Anoma Vongyai, Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Chicago Office, jointly welcomed Ms. Sunanta Kangvalkulkij, Director-General of the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) from the Ministry of Commerce, and her delegation during their visit to Chicago. The visit focused on expanding economic cooperation between Thailand and the U.S., exploring opportunities to enhance the Thai product market, and promoting Thai community initiatives in the Midwest.

Later, Team Thailand in Chicago and the DITP delegation met with Ms. Caitlyn Abbey, International Marketing Officer at the Illinois Soybean Association (ISA), for a briefing on ISA management, as well as the production and export of Illinois soybeans in order to expand economic cooperation between Thailand and the U.S.
