On 19 February 2025, H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand met with H.E. Mr. Kinzang Dorji, Ambassador of Bhutan to Thailand at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Both sides reaffirmed shared commitments to strengthening bilateral relations, built on the special bonds between the two Royal Families and frequent exchanges of high-level visits. The Foreign Minister expressed interest in the Gelephu Mindfulness City project - a visionary special administrative region planned to become Bhutan’s new economic hub. He commended Bhutan’s strategic development vision, which balances sustainable development with modernisation.

In addition, the Ambassador expressed his appreciation for Thailand’s continued support and looked forward to welcoming the Foreign Minister to Bhutan in March 2025. The upcoming visit will further advance the close relations between the two Kingdoms.
