On 28 April 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a pull - aside meeting with H.E. Mr. Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, on the sidelines of the 25th ASEAN - EU Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam.

Both sides exchanged views on various situations that continue to pose significant challenges, including the impact of the situation in the Middle East and Russia - Ukraine. The Polish side underscored the importance of international support for Ukraine’s recovery and economic reconstruction, which Thailand concurred with, expressing its readiness to participate in the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2026 (URC26), to be held on 25 - 26 June 2026 in Gdansk, Poland.

At the bilateral level, Thailand expressed its readiness to host the first Strategic Dialogue to further strengthen relations and cooperation across various areas, including promoting trade and investment through expediting negotiations on the Thailand - EU Free Trade Agreement, advancing the Visa Cascade system, and considering Schengen visa exemption for Thai ordinary passport holders to facilitate travel. The Thai side also welcomed Polish investment in Thailand’s key sectors, including agriculture and retail.
