On 24 November 2023, Mr. Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, presided over the closing ceremony of the 2023 Meeting of Thai Ambassadors and Consuls-General under the theme "Proactive Diplomacy in a Polarised World", which was held between 19 - 24 November 2023 in Bangkok. The Meeting was attended by Thai Ambassadors and Consuls-General from 97 overseas missions and executives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs was briefed on the outcome of the Meeting and the suggested proposals by the Ambassador of Thailand to Norway, Ambassador of Thailand to Bangladesh, and Ambassador of Thailand to Pakistan, as the representatives of the participants, on three main areas of duties of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; namely, proactive diplomacy in geo-politics, proactive economic diplomacy, and public diplomacy. The Meeting also exchanged views on ways to promote Thailand’s role on the global stage on such issues as sustainable development, public health and regional connectivity, as well as stressed the importance of enhancing the efficiency in the consular services and the protection of Thais residing in Thailand and abroad.

In his closing remarks, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasised on the important roles of the Ambassadors and Consuls-General as leaders of “Team Thailand Plus” by integrating the work of Thai overseas missions with the Thai private sector, to strengthen Thailand’s role and status on the global stage and to speedily explore trade and investment opportunities to promote Thai interests abroad. In this regard, he has conveyed 4-C work principles as follows: (1) Customer-centric by placing the people at the centre (2) Concrete by reducing red tape (3) Coordination by working in coordination as a team and (4) Can-do attitude. The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs called on all embassies and consulates-general to devise an action plan to implement the targets and objectives of the Proactive Diplomacy Policy into concrete results.
