       On 31 July 2019, the ASEAN Foreign Ministers and the Secretary-General of ASEAN paid a courtesy call on H.E. General Prayut Chan-o-cha, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, on the occasion of the 52nd ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (AMM)/ Post Ministerial Conferences (PMCs) and other Related Meetings, to be held in Bangkok from 30 July to 3 August 2019.

 

       ASEAN Foreign Ministers took this opportunity to offer their best wishes on the occasion of the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua and to congratulate H.E. General Prayut Chan-o-cha on his assumption of duty as Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand for the second term, as well as Thailand’s success in implementing its Chairmanship theme “Advancing Partnership for Sustainability.” The Prime Minister recommended ASEAN to collaborate with G20 countries in various sectors, such as financial inclusion, the development of a Digital and Green ASEAN, seamless connectivity, Smart Cities Network and the preservation of marine resources. He also mentioned about Thailand’s focus in applying Sufficiency Economy Philosophy to help achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs).
