On 22 May 2019 during 19.00 - 21.00 hrs., the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Dubai, together with Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Dubai office and Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (TG), Dubai office, co-hosted a “Thai Iftar 2019” reception at Spice Thai Emporium restaurant, The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina. The purpose of this event was to celebrate the holy month of Ramadan and strengthen relations between Thai authorities and public and private agencies, including the local authorities concerned in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
On this occasion, H.E. Mr. Chairat Sirivat, Consul-General, delivered his remarks expressing appreciation to the participants for their continued contribution and supports towards the Royal Thai Consulate-General and Team Thailand in Dubai. The event was attended by over 140 representatives from various sectors such as Director-General of Finance from Fujairah government, government officials from Dubai Police and Immigration departments, Dubai International Airport, businesspersons, importers, including representatives of travel agencies, universities, reporters and media influencers who are friends of Thailand as well as ASEAN Diplomatic corps in Dubai (Consulate-General of the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore).
In addition, Thai Iftar 2019 was also aimed to promote Thai cuisine among the UAE residents, Thai dishes such as Pad Thai, Green Curry, Pad Kra Prao, Tom Kha, Som Tum, Steamed Pandan Layer Cake, Egg custard and sticky rice, and Mango sticky rice were served together with Arabic food. Participants enjoyed the food as well as their networking.
