On the auspicious occasion of the Coronation of King Rama X, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand will hold various activities in Thailand and abroad.
1. Well-wishing activities by Thailand’s diplomatic missions abroad
Thailand’s 98 diplomatic missions in 96 cities, including Embassies, Consulates-General, Permanent Missions, as well as the Trade and Economic Office, will hold activities for overseas Thais to honour His Majesty the King as follows:
1.1 Religious activities such as alms offering, prayer ceremony, vipassana meditation, and merit-making ceremony at Thai Buddhist temples.
1.2 Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Voluntary Public Service Activities on the Auspicious Occasion of the Coronation of King Rama X such as charity donations to orphanages and underprivileged children; cleaning up key neighbourhoods in their respective cities and embassies/consulates’ surrounding premises.
1.3 Well-wishing ceremonies on the occasion of the Coronation of King Rama X on 6 May 2019 led by Ambassadors and Consuls-General, joined by officials from respective Thai agencies and their spouses, as well as Thai communities abroad in their respective cities as follows:
1.3.1 Thai diplomatic missions in 82 cities, of which local time is similar to that of Thailand, will hold the ceremony concurrently with His Majesty the King’s public audience on the balcony of Suddhaisavarya Prasad Hall, the Grand Palace, on 6 May 2019, at 16.30 hrs. Members of Thai communities abroad will be able to view a live broadcast of the ceremony from the Grand Palace.
1.3.2 Thai diplomatic missions in 14 cities in different time zones from Thailand will organise ceremonies where the attendees will perform the same ceremony by following a recording of the ceremony held in Thailand.
2. Exhibition in Honour of His Majesty the King on the Auspicious Occasion of the Coronation
On the auspicious occasion of the Coronation of King Rama X, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has produced an exhibition sent to all the Thai diplomatic missions abroad. The exhibition, in Thai and English, would inform both Thais and foreigners abroad on the Royal Biography; Royal Activities as the Crown Prince of Thailand; Continuing, Preserving, and Building upon the Royal Legacy; as well as highlighting the significance of the Coronation. The exhibition is on display at 98 Thai diplomatic missions in 96 cities throughout May 2019, including and especially on 6 May 2019, when the well-wishing ceremonies for His Majesty are to be organised.
The exhibition is also displayed in Thailand at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sri Ayudhya Road, during 24 April - 10 May 2019, and the Department of Consular Affairs, Chaeng Wattana Road, during 1 - 31 May 2019.
