On 13 April 2019, Royal Thai Embassy in Kathmandu organized Songkran Festival at the Ambassador’s Residence with the objective to celebrate the traditional Thai New Year and foster network of the Thai community in Nepal. H.E. Mr. Bhakavat Tanskul, Ambassador of Thailand presided over the ceremony. As more than 30 Thais and their family members participated in this event.  Main activities at the Festival were bathing of the Buddha image to receive blessing, paying respect to Thai elders and parents by pouring scented water onto their hands, singing of traditional Thai songs and lunch gathering.  This event could  help strengthening the bond and connection among Thai community in Nepal and portray the willingness of all Thais to preserve and propagate this important culture and tradition.
