On 7 April 2019, the Thai Festival & Cultural Association of South Australia Incorporated organised the 2019 Songkran Festival to celebrate the Thai New Year, at Angus Neill Reserve, Adelaide, South Australia. The festival was attended by His Excellency the Honourable Hieu Van Le, Governor of South Australia, the Honourable David Pisoni, Minister for Industry and Skills, representating the Premier of South Australia, Minister Thippawan Supamitkitja, Royal Thai Embassy, Mrs. Amanda Wilson, Mayor of the City of Holdfast Bay, Mrs. Mandy-Jane Giannopoulos, Thai Honorary Consul, and our special guest, Dr. Richard Harris, who played an important role in the rescue mission of the Wild Boars soccer team from the flooded Tham Luang cave in Chiang Rai, Thailand.
