On 5 December 2018, Mrs. Viphawan Benniman, Chargé d'Affaires a.i., hosted a reception at the Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi for the Diplomatic Corps on the occasion of the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand and Father’s Day. His Excellency Omar bin Sultan Al Omara, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, attended as Guest of Honour from the UAE side.

The event was also attended by Ambassadors and diplomats from the embassies in UAE and also the senior representatives from the UAE Government agencies and businesspersons. Furthermore, the event was attended by members from Team Thailand including Mr. Rangsant Srimangkorn, Acting Consul-General of Thailand in Dubai,
Mr. Panot  Punyahotra, Director of Thai Trade Office in Dubai and spouse, Mr. Pairat Sukngam, Assistant Director, Tourism Authority of Thailand in Dubai, Mr. Aphirak Intararat, Duty Manager of Thai Airways at Dubai International Airport, and representatives of the Thai Community in the UAE.

          On this occasion, the participants together paid respect to the UAE National Anthem and Royal Anthem of Thailand. Hence, the Chargé d'Affaires a.i. delivered the speech which followed by a traditional Thai Dance called “The Blessing Dance” performed by young children from the Thai community in Abu Dhabi and performances of Thai traditional puppetry from Sakorn Puppetry Theatre.

          The event was supported by the Tourism Authority of Thailand in Dubai, Thai Airways (Dubai Office), Boon Rawd Trading (Thailand) and Eurostar Cellar. Almost 300 persons attended the event.
