On 22 October 2018, the Royal Thai Embassy in Colombo organised the merit making ceremony on the occasion of the remembrance of the passing away of His Majesty the late King Chulalongkorn of Thailand at Gangaramaya Temple, Colombo.
H.E. Mrs. Chulamanee Chartsuwan, Ambassador of Thailand to Sri Lanka, her spouse, the Royal Thai Embassy’s officials and the Thai community in Sri Lanka participated in the ceremony. The religious ceremony commenced at 10.20 hrs. with H.E. Mrs. Chulamanee lighted up the oil lamp at the Bodhi Tree of the Gangaramaya Temple. This was followed by the chanting of 10 monks. Then, Ambassador, her spouse and participants presented offerings and poured ceremonial water to dedicate the merits to His Majesty the late King Chulalongkorn. The merit making ceremony ended at 12.00 hrs. Around 20 persons attended the ceremony.
