Ambassador of the State of Israel to Thailand Paid a Courtesy Call on Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand

           On 1 August 2018, H.E. Mr. Meir Shlomo, Ambassador of the State of Israel to Thailand, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Virasakdi Futrakul, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand.

          The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs welcomed and congratulated the Ambassador of the State of Israel on his assumption of duty in Thailand. He also extended Thailand’s appreciation to the Government of Israel’s offer of assistance in the rescue mission for the Moo Paa Academy Mae Sai Football Team who were trapped in Tham Luang Cave, as well as for Maxtech Networks, an Israeli company that dispatched experts and supplied the communication devices to assist in the search operations. The Ambassador of the State of Israel expressed his readiness to work closely with the Thai side in further strengthening the dynamic and extensive collaboration between the two countries.

          During the courtesy call, both sides discussed ways and means to promote bilateral relations in potential areas of mutual benefits, particularly labor cooperation, technical and development cooperation, trade and investment, whereby the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs invited Israeli companies to invest in Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridors (EEC). Moreover, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed Thailand’s interest in learning from Israel’s best practices and experiences in the areas of startup ventures, science, technology and innovation, agriculture, and water management.
